Beginning in contract year 2024, there will be CMS changes mandated to Special Needs Plans (SNPs) Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) to include questions from screening instruments as outlined by CMS. The new Section 90 of Chapter 16-B of the Medicare Managed Care Manual outlines the requirements for SNPs to include questions on housing stability, food security, and access to transportation in their HRAs. While many states require screening for these three domains and may be using validated screening instruments, some state-required screening instruments may be state-specific and not meet the standards.
The mandated changes are only a few months away and potentially impact plan care management systems, vendor oversight, delegation agreements, and workflow processes. Rebellis Group has clinical and operational expertise to support implementing the mandated changes quickly and efficiently ensuring plan compliance. Contact us for assistance.
