Helen Liu

Helen has 29 years of diverse pharmacy experience, blending clinical expertise, operational efficiency, technical innovation, and management acumen across various healthcare settings. 

Her experience includes Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee implementation, Part B prior authorization/step therapy program implementation, formulary analyses to support actuarial bid submissions for Medicare, development of strategies to optimize patient care and enhance Star quality measures, and Fraud, Waste & Abuse (FWA) program development.  Additional areas of expertise include Inflation Reduction Action (IRA) and Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (M3P) programs, Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs, Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) selection and issue resolution, and EPIC CPOE/EMR system implementation.

Helen has served as Regional Assistant Director and Drug Use Management leader for a large health plan, where her efforts led to over $20 million in savings through inventory management, drug cost-saving initiatives, and the standardization of clinical content. She also spearheaded process improvements in sterile compounding and infusion clinics.  Her background also includes experience leading the Medication Safety Committee and several LEAN projects focused on workflow efficiency, such as optimizing OR registration, ICU ventilation sedation protocols, and improving HCAHPS scores.
