Caron Wingerchuk, BSP, PharmD, RPh

Caron brings over 25 years of diverse pharmacy experience including pharmacy operations in both the health plan and pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) settings. Caron has also held roles in clinical program development and strategy, Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committees participation, and pharmacy compliance.

During her consulting tenure, Caron has been involved in projects for the CMS Program Audit support for coverage determinations, appeals and formulary administration, CMS audit remediation, PBM delegation oversight and monitoring, claims adjudication and pharmacy benefit testing, operational assessments, and pharmacy leadership support.

Caron has also served in developing and leading a Medicare quality monitoring team for a large PBM. In this role she drove operational efficiency by developing automation strategies for adjudication compliance monitoring, supported client audit activities, policy and procedure development and training. She worked as a clinical specialist and instructor at multiple teaching hospitals in the USA and Canada where she participated in the P&T process, managed clinical pharmacy teams, and taught pharmacy and medical residents.

Caron received her PharmD from the University of Minnesota and her BA and BSP from the University of Saskatchewan. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Saskatchewan and her Nephrology and Transplantation residency at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
